Design of Functionalized Lobed Particles for Porous Self-Assemblies

Abstract Colloidal particles fabricated with anisotropic interactions have emerged as building blocks for designing materials various nanotechnological applications. We used coarse-grained Langevin dynamics simulations to probe the morphologies of self-assembled structures formed by lobed decorated functional groups. tuned between groups investigate their effect on porosity different shapes (snowman, dumbbell, trigonal planar, tetrahedral, square bipyramidal, and octahedral) at temperatures. The planar shaped particles, geometries, form including elongated chains, honeycomb sheets, respectively. non-planar geometries (tetrahedral, self-assemble into random aggregate morphologies. bipyramidal octahedral exhibit smaller homogeneous pores compared particles. in is substantially enhanced functionalization

A microfluidic-based approach for the fabrication of organic contaminants absorbing core-shell particles is demonstrated.
